San Francisco Shops

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 by Editor

go-shopping-2I don’t know about you, but one of the things my husband and I enjoy when visiting a new-to-us city is shopping.  However, we don’t shop at malls that are filled with well-known stores, we prefer to roam downtowns and their unique shops.  We like to peruse boutiques, art stores, and stores that reflect the personality of the community in which we are staying.

On our shopping website, Go Shopping Info, we have a recently published article that is perfect if you like to shop and will be visiting San Francisco.  Click here, and learn what great destinations await you!

Pets & Your Health

feathers3Pet ownership often is portrayed as idyllic.  Long, relaxing walks along picture perfect sidewalks with your dog.  Quiet evenings spent with your adorable cat curled up in your lap.  A good portion of pet ownership is filled with enjoyable times such as these.

However, there are drawbacks to having a pet (walking your dog in the pouring rain), but it seems these drawbacks are outweighed by the benefits of owning a pet.  To learn more about these benefits, visit our animal websites, Feathers Fins and Fur.

tasty-thoughts3On a Sunday morning, there is something nice about indulging in a hearty breakfast.  While you could make one at home, sometimes it is nice to have someone prepare a meal for you.  When you’re seeking a breakfast such as this, you probably want more than the pancakes and eggs you could make at home.

Tasty Thoughts, our cooking and dining site, recently polled its readers in search of the best brunch in the Northeast.  After two weeks of voting, a winner has been chosen.  While we could share it here, we’ll build the suspense a little.  Click here to learn about this great dining destination.

Song Journals – Share More Than Just Music

song-journalsSAN MATEO, CA (June 2009) Wasabi Ventures LLC, an innovative venture capital firm with a diverse portfolio of Internet-based endeavors, announced their latest online project this week with the unveiling of www.songjournals.com.

Song Journals is a collaborative online project that allows users to share their memories and emotions inspired by the songs that move them.  Song Journals blends audio, video, and text files in a unique interactive experience that unites users by sharing not just their favorite music, but the feelings and thoughts that make the music personally meaningful.

“Music is the most moving all of the artistic forms of expression,” said Tom Kuegler, Managing Partner at Wasabi Ventures. “Song Journals uses this call to emotions and partners it with social media technology allowing people to share their memories and feelings that songs cause in them.”

Unlike other music sites, Song Journals focuses less on the music itself than on the user’s interpretation. Whether it’s the memories of a grandfather inspired by the crooning of Sammy Davis Jr. or an old girlfriend brought to mind by Primus’ rampaging guitars, Song Journals gives registered users the forum for their musical musings.

Wasabi Ventures is a different kind of venture capital firm made up of three distinct, but connected aspects: venture funding, start-up advising, and incubation. For more information about Wasabi Ventures LLC, go to http://wasabiventures.com/ or contact Tom Kuegler at tk@wasabiventures.com.

Four Ingredient Beer

parched-2Recently on our beverage website, our beer reviewer sampled Bard’s Sorghum Beer.  One thing he noted to be interesting about this beer was that it contained only four ingredients.  That, in and of itself, is a fun piece of trivia.

However, one of our knowledgeable readers pointed out an even greater importance to this minimal ingredient list: none of those four ingredients contains gluten. This beer could be a beverage option for adults who either have an allergy to gluten or simply choose to maintain a gluten-free diet.
